Global Step Academy International School (GSAIS) is hosting spring school camps for both elementary school and kindergarten students.

GSAIS is an international preschool and kindergarten in Tachikawa City, Tokyo. GSAIS focuses on nurturing students to become well-rounded individuals through the cultivation of their intellectual, creative, personal, social, and physical abilities. The school is committed to educating both local and foreign students to be international and independent thinkers. Also, we focus heavily on academic quality, long-term community development, an understanding of diversity, as well as language learning and communication, ethics, self-awareness, and mindfulness.

We believe that classroom and co-curricular activities are essential in the child’s development and therefore we put a relatively high focus on sports, music and extracurricular activities where children can fully use their five senses in the learning process, while learning effectively how to function both as an individual and as part of a group through active learning.

Students in the Kindergarten Course will be able to directly join the regular lessons of Global Step Academy International School and experience a real international school curriculum.

The GSAIS curriculum is rooted in the UK-based International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC). The IEYC uses international best practices, holistic inquiry, and play-based approaches that cover all curriculum areas including personal, social, and emotional development. Our child-centered approach encourages learning through discovery and exploration, focusing on fun, hands-on learning that is relevant to the children and nurturing their natural curiosity about the world they live in.

As well as building solid foundations in literacy and numeracy, children attending GSAIS also participate in a range of special subject classes such as art, dance, physical education and music, all taught in English and part of our regular program. This is because we believe in the importance for children to have a wide variety of experiences in this key stage of their development, engaging them from different angles and encouraging them to grow both as individuals and as members of a group.

Our Language Arts program is based on Jolly Phonics and Grammar. Jolly Phonics is a comprehensive program, based on the proven, fun and multi-sensory synthetic phonics method that gets children reading and writing from an early age. Students practice phonics, pronunciation, reading, writing and listening by learning songs, actions and stories.

Students joining the Elementary Course will be able to experience the unique curriculum of GSA After School, which is full of new exciting challenges that are going to be a chance for personal growth. Our program makes the best use of the know-how and achievements of Global Step Academy International School coupled with the experience, knowledge, and network of the entertainment company AMUSE to offer a unique education based on English and sports.

Classes are conducted by experienced native English speakers to encourage diversity and mindfulness through the interactions of teachers and students of different nationalities and mother tongues.

Creativity and Critical Thinking
It is difficult to make predictions about the future of our society, which means that our children will be required to have the ability to think in a creative way to live in it. Practicing a non-verbal activity, such as sports, in an international environment while attending a language program unique to international schools is a good way to train the power of imagination and the ability to think.

Empathy and Mutual Understanding
Through our after school program, your child will have the opportunity to come in contact with new friends and teachers coming from very different backgrounds. This is a great chance to improve their communication skills and their understanding and trust in others, and therefore their future possibilities, by sharing the same objectives and achievements in team sports.
